What it is

A water-soluble polysaccharide fibre, engineered to a low molecular weight so it works as a clean prebiotic substrate without the bulk of conventional fibres. Its job is direct: support the gut's short-chain fatty acid producers — the bacteria that turn fibre into butyrate and propionate, central signals in gut, metabolic, and gut-brain health.

Where it fits

The closest reference point in market is the kiwi-derived butyrate-modulator category (e.g. Livaux), which sells a butyrate story at premium-extract economics. TRI-04 differs on mechanism class (a low-MW fibre, not a fruit polyphenol), on cost trajectory at scale, and on its standalone metabolic-health claim path. We frame the category gap, not any competitor's shortcomings.
